Cactus Club Cajun Chicken Sandwich (Copycat Recipe!)

1 Mins read

If you love the Cajun Chicken Sandwich at Cactus Club, you are in the right place! When I first got recommended this sandwich, I thought it would super similar to the Blackened Chicken with Creole Butter and while the ingredients are similar, it is a different taste!

How To Make This Cajun Chicken Sandwich Recipe

The Cajun Chicken Sandwich is made of a few components.

The Chicken – Usually I do prefer chicken thighs but this recipe, I tried both and liked the chicken breast better. The chicken breast is flattened (I used a rolling pin if you don’t have a meat pounder), and it’s a thinner burger to balance out the other flavours.

Toppings – Shredded Lettuce, Tomatoes and Aged Cheddar. The Brioche Bun is toasted with Cajun butter (melted butter with Cajun spice) and mayo.

Serve it with fresh French fries or a side salad.

Cajun Chicken Sandwich Recipe Tips

The great thing about making it yourself is you can adjust the spices! Upon receiving additional feedback about the Blackened Chicken Recipe, I did make it less spicy, but feel free to add more cayenne if you like spice!

While any cheese would work, I would recommend sticking with aged cheddar because the flavor of the cheese really needs to hold up to the spices in the chicken.

Brush your brioche burger buns with melted butter with about a teaspoon of the Cajun Butter! It does make a difference.
